I am delighted to have the opportunity to write the Foreword to this book, which covers so many of London’s fascinating and often over-looked churches, London’s parish churches are a vital part of its heritage, telling the story of the city, its people and their faith over many centuries. This book will encourage and appreciation of all they have to offer. … I hope that this book will enable many people to understand better the significance of ‘their’ church and those of other neighbourhoods and appreciate that the role they play in the townscapes reflects the time of their building.
