Description
A guide to over 400 Anglican and Roman Catholic churches of Greater London (excluding the City) celebrating their architectural variety and historic interest, and illustrated with over 1,000 colour photographs by the author.
I am delighted to have the opportunity to write the Foreword to this book, which covers so many of London’s fascinating and often over-looked churches, London’s parish churches are a vital part of its heritage, telling the story of the city, its people and their faith over many centuries. This book will encourage and appreciation of all they have to offer. … I hope that this book will enable many people to understand better the significance of ‘their’ church and those of other neighbourhoods and appreciate that the role they play in the townscapes reflects the time of their building.
From the Foreword by HRH The Duke of Gloucester

A marvellous book.
Sir Roy Strong
What a good book. There are many half-hearted guides but this one is erudite and exhaustive.
Sir Simon Jenkins
An eye-opening revelation of the artistic wonders to be found in even humdrum corners of London.
